Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam has defended his controversial comment calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi "anpadh-gawaar" (uneducated and uncouth), saying the words he used were "not undignified".

Sanjay Nirupam used the words while criticising the Maharashtra government's decision to screen a short film on the prime minister's life at schools.

"The decision to force the film's screening is wrong. Children should be kept away from politics. What will students learn from watching a film on an uneducated and illiterate person like (prime minister) Modi," the Congress leader told a news channel.

"Children and people do not know how many degrees the prime minister holds," he added.

Reacting sharply, BJP leaders like Shaina NC called Mr Nirupam "mentally deranged."

Mr Nirupam, widely criticised for his choice of words, said the BJP was "oversensitive" and need not pick on each and every word. He said, "It's a democracy, the PM is not God. People speak of him while maintaining decorum. The words I used aren't that offensive."

Reacting to Mr Nirupam's remarks, Shaina NC had tweeted, "Yet another obnoxious comment by a mentally deranged @sanjaynirupam . May be he forgets that @narendramodi is elected by 125 cr Indians who aren't "unpad or gavar".@INCIndia is devoid of ideology and relevant questions. Sure citizens will give a befitting reply in 2019 (sic)."

Google Draws US Conservatives' Ire After Leaked Video Shows Top Executives Reacting to Trump's 2016 Election Victory

A leaked video of Google executives trying to console employees who were upset after the election of President Donald Trump has infuriated conservatives, who say the remarks illustrate the search giant's political bias and should prompt regulators to take a close look at the company.

The new controversy stems from a roughly hour-long recording published Wednesday by Breitbart. It shows executives such as Sergey Brin, the president of Google parent Alphabet, and Sundar Pichai, the chief executive of Google, addressing staff at a private meeting days after the 2016 election, the outcome of which Pichai said caused "a lot of fear within Google."

As they expressed their dismay, Google executives sought to assuage employees, especially immigrants, given the incoming president's pledge before Election Day to toughen security at the border. In doing so, Google's leaders encouraged their workers to be understanding of "all sides of the political spectrum," said Eileen Naughton, the company's vice president for people operations.

But conservatives quickly seized on the leaked video Wednesday as evidence that Google is trying to undermine Trump and silence his supporters - and some White House allies even suggested investigating the company as a result.

"They control 91% of all search and they get to decide what everyone sees. If this isn't a Monopoly I don't know what is," tweeted Donald Trump Jr.

Brad Parscale, the president's campaign manager, said the company "needs to explain why this isn't a threat to the Republic," adding in his own tweet: "Congressional hearings! Investigate."

In response, Riva Sciuto, a spokeswoman for Google, defended the search giant's meeting. "For over 20 years, everyone at Google has been able to freely express their opinions at these meetings," she said in a statement. "Nothing was said at that meeting, or any other meeting, to suggest that any political bias ever influences the way we build or operate our products."

Still, the video's publication - on Breitbart, a right-leaning news site once led by Stephen Bannon, the president's former top strategist - could prove problematic for Google in the nation's capital.

Like Facebook, Twitter, and its other tech peers, Google for months has weathered allegations that it stifles conservative news and views. Trump accused Google in August of having "rigged" search results to display negative stories about him - a charge that Google strongly denied. And this week, GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., even threatened to drag Google to Capitol Hill to answer for its political leanings. "An invite will be on its way," McCarthy tweeted. The GOP lawmaker similarly helped orchestrate an entire congressional hearing focused on allegations of conservative bias at Twitter, raising the specter that one of Google's executives could soon be forced to appear in front of their Republican critics.Jav Office ladyJapanese Porn

The video unearthed by Breitbart provides a glimpse into how executives and employees in Silicon Valley - a liberal-leaning part of California that overwhelmingly backed Trump's Democratic foe, Hillary Clinton - thought about the company's changing role in the immediate fallout from the 2016 election. Trump's surprise victory sparked soul-searching in the technology industry over echo chambers, fake news and coastal elitism. Employees, meanwhile, pushed their leaders to fight Trump's agenda - particularly on immigration, given that the tech industry employs large numbers of high-skilled foreign workers.

Some tech companies did not immediately take responsibility for playing a role in shaping the election. Days after the election, Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said the idea that fake news spread on Facebook influenced the outcome of the US election was "crazy." Zuckerberg later said he regretted his "dismissive" comments.

The executives at Google, however, directly addressed these concerns in the meeting. When asked about misinformation and how its personalization algorithms shape peoples' opinions, Pichai said in the video that YouTube plays a big role in the discussions about social media. He also acknowledged there "seems to be a selection bias" around how people are able to access information.

To Breitbart, however, the recording reflected "a determinism to thwart both the Trump agenda and the broader populist movement emerging around the globe." The site seized on comments from executives like Kent Walker, who now oversees Google's policy operations around the world. Walker spoke broadly about the rise of populist movements globally, fueled by forces like fear and "xenophobia."

Yet the article omitted the full context of some of the exchanges between executives and their employees. For one example, a Google employee asked Google's leaders if they see "anything positive from this election result." Breitbart noted they burst out laughing, and that Brin said, "Boy, that's a really tough one right now." But it did not detail a moment when Pichai and Page highlighted potential benefits: That Trump could improve US infrastructure or that it could be the end of congressional gridlock.https://www.javwide.com/movie

WASHINGTON:

Video footage emerged Wednesday showing disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein apparently sexually harassing a woman who subsequently accused him of rape.

Melissa Thompson, who has previously publicly complained of abusive behavior by Weinstein during a 2011 business meeting in New York, gave a tape of the encounter to Sky News.

Thompson told the station she had been offering her tech company's video platform to the 66-year-old, and recorded the meeting as part of the pitch.

Just hours later, Weinstein allegedly raped her in his hotel room, the woman told Sky News.

AFP reached out to Weinstein's lawyer Benjamin Brafman for comment but there was no immediate response.

He was quoted by US-based entertainment magazine People however as denying sexual misconduct by his client.

"Several respected journalists and trustworthy individuals have seen the entire video, as Ms. Thompson has been trying to promote it to for several months," Brafman's statement read, according to People.

"What they shared with us is that the video, when viewed in its entirety, in context and not in select excerpts, demonstrates that there is nothing forceful, but casual -- if not awkward -- flirting from both parties."jav schoolgirl

The former Hollywood titan is seen in the video waving staff away with the words "don't interrupt, don't interrupt' as he enters the meeting.

Thompson offers her hand but Weinstein goes in for a hug instead.

"That's nice. Let's keep it up. It's not bad," he says as he rubs her back.

"Am I allowed to flirt with you?" he is heard asking, and Thompson replies: "Um, we'll see, a little bit."

Naivety

At one point on the recording, Weinstein reaches under a table and appears to move his arm up her leg.

"Let me have a little part of you. Give it to me. It's okay, would you like to do it some more?" he can be heard saying.

"A little high, a little high, that's a little high, that's a little high," Thompson replies.

Weinstein has been accused by dozens of women of a litany of sexual misconduct ranging from harassment to rape.

He is out on bail and has pleaded not guilty in New York to six counts allegedly committed against three women in 2004, 2006 and 2013. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for September 20.

The allegations against the once-powerful movie mogul spurred the #MeToo movement that saw women worldwide speak up against sexual harassment and assault by men in powerful positions.

Thompson told Sky News Weinstein was "playing a cat-and-mouse game from the very beginning to see how far he could push me, and what my reactions might be so that he could gauge how he would play with (me), where my levers were, what were my vulnerabilities."

She is seen watching the footage along with a Sky News reporter, and denies encouraging him, telling the channel: "I think there was a combination of confidence and naivety that led me to this dynamic that we see now, watching back."

'Trapped'

In the footage, Weinstein invites Thompson to join him at the Tribeca Grand Hotel lobby restaurant. She told Sky News she was expecting that this would be a follow-up meeting to close the deal.

"It wasn't an invitation to go to his hotel room. It was an invitation to come to a hotel lobby that was within blocks of the office and so that to me felt much safer than being alone with him in his office," she said.

When she arrived, Weinstein allegedly led her to his hotel room where she says he raped her.

"If I would try to fight myself away from him, he would then move around to a place where he could block me in," Thompson said.

"I constantly felt trapped, no matter where I turned. He cornered me, over and over again."

Thompson was part of a class action lawsuit against Weinstein filed in June in which she claimed the producer began to harass and fondle her, several US media outlets reported.

She reportedly claimed in court documents that Weinstein tried unsuccessfully to force her to perform oral sex on him before he pushed her on the bed and raped her.

But Brafman accused Thompson to trying to bolster her position in the lawsuit.

"Any suggestion of sexual misconduct is false. This is a further attempt to publicly disgrace Mr. Weinstein for financial gain, and we will not stand for it. Facts do matter," the lawyer told People magazine.
